CITY police were called to Exeter Cathedral today following reports that two men were on the roof.
A man dressed as Batman has been spotted on the roof to the front of the cathedral.
Officers said that they believed the men were members of the fathers for Justice protest group.
The men were first spotted at 10.25am but police are not sure how long they had been on the roof before their presence was first reported.
Inspector Richard Hooper-Bennett, Public Order Commander, said: “Officers are on the scene to protect life and property, and facilitate a peaceful protest where it doesn’t impinge on the civil liberties of others.
“We are making an initial assessment and speaking to the interested parties.”
No arrests have been made at this time.
