WITHIN hours of Banksy’s Dismaland exhibit being unveiled to the public, the Weston-super-Mare site has already been subject to an impromptu protest from a fathers’ rights group.
Two New Fathers 4 Justice members attempted to scale the front wall of the Tropicana, which has been used to house the exhibit already attracting the world’s attention, but were ‘disturbed’ as they attempted to unveil a banner in a similar style to the dystopian Disneyland setting at around 6.45am.
The pair made off before police were called, but a group spokesman has said further protests are planned.
They made their attempt dressed as ‘Taking the Mickey Mouse’ and Minnie, while carrying a banner inscribed with the caption ‘For dads, life is not always a fairy tale’.
A spokesman for the group said: “Life is like one big Dismaland for fathers denied access to their children going through the family court system. We will attempt another protest at the site shortly. We thought Banksy would like the irony of the protest.”
