Potters Bar campaigner pleads not guilty over parenting rights stunt

A Potters Bar man is set to stand trial for climbing onto a court roof in support of a fellow fathers’ rights campaigner.

Stop the War on Dads

Thirty-three-year-old Daniel Dedman of Bowmans Close was one of three campaigners to plead not guilty at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court today to disrupting people engaged in lawful activity.

The charge arises from a stunt they pulled at the same court on January 6, when Bobby Smith, of Anderson Road,Stevenage was convicted of breaching a restraining order.

Smith repaid the favour today, by scaling the roof of Stevenage Police station while the three were in court.

The campaigners, members of New Fathers 4 Justice, want a legal presumption of equal contact for a child with their parents if they split up.

No trial date has yet been set for Dedman and his co-defendants.
