Archi Ssan, from Croydon, Martin Matthews from Great Bookham and Lian Harris from Lancaster scaled the cathedral in central London late this morning and unfurled a giant banner reading ‘family courts do evil’.

The protest was claimed by activists from New Fathers 4 Justice.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the men had not been detained and no arrests had been made.

The spokesman said: “We were notified at 11.30am of a small protest in the public area of Westminster Cathedral.

“It concluded after a short time and there were no arrests.”

A Press Association reporter has claimed the banner has been removed.

After last week’s performance in Sheffield, where he polled 58 votes, fellow activist Bobby ‘Elmo’ Smith of the Give Me Back Elmo party will be contesting the Tooting by election next.
